Aldona, Goa: The 12th International Day of Yoga was observed with great enthusiasm at St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and a balanced lifestyle.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Physical Education Teacher Shri R.J. Vijaykumar, with active participation from the school community.
The event witnessed the presence and involvement of Principal Ms. Angelica Fernandes, along with students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff, who joined together to celebrate the ancient practice of yoga.
Participants performed various yoga asanas and breathing exercises, focusing on flexibility, concentration, relaxation and overall wellness. The session encouraged students and staff members to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for a healthier and more mindful life.
The celebration emphasised the role of yoga not only as a form of physical exercise but also as a practice that nurtures mental clarity, discipline and emotional balance.
