The Goa Government has informed the High Court that it will withdraw its July 7, 2023 notification permitting monsoon water sports in the Mandovi River. Until a comprehensive policy is finalised, no new monsoon water sports activities will be allowed.

Goa Records 6.8% Growth in Railway Tourist Arrivals, Nearly 20 Lakh Visitors Arrive by Train in Jan-May 2026
Goa witnessed a 6.8% year-on-year rise in railway tourist arrivals during January to May 2026, with 19,87,862 travellers arriving by train compared to 18,60,568 during the same period last year. The Tourism Department said improved connectivity and year-round tourism promotion are driving the growth.
