Cyber Crime Awareness Programme Held at Park Regis Hotel in Arpora

Arpora, October 7, 2026: A cyber crime awareness programme was conducted by PSI Sahil Warang at Park Regis Hotel in Arpora, Goa, on October 7, 2026. Approximately 50โ€“60 hotel staff members participated in the session, which focused on recognising cyber threats, preventing online fraud and following safe digital practices.

During the programme, participants were sensitised to various forms of cybercrime, including UPI fraud, online banking fraud, phishing, OTP scams, fake customer-care calls, impersonation, malicious links and social-media-related frauds.

The session highlighted preventive measures that individuals can adopt to protect their financial and personal information while using digital platforms. Participants were also advised on the importance of remaining alert to suspicious calls, messages and online requests.

Briefing on Money Restoration and Grievance Redressal

The staff members were briefed on the Money Restoration Module (MRM) and Grievance Redressal Mechanism (GRM) portals of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

The session explained their role in facilitating the restoration of money lost in cyber fraud and addressing grievances relating to bank accounts placed under lien, hold or freeze during cybercrime investigations.

Emphasis on Prompt Reporting

The importance of immediately reporting cyber financial fraud through helpline 1930 or the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) was emphasised during the programme.

Participants were also informed about the importance of preserving digital evidence and coordinating promptly with the police and banks when a cybercrime incident occurs.

The programme included an interactive session during which hotel staff raised queries related to cybercrime and digital safety. Their questions were addressed as part of the awareness initiative.

The programme aimed to strengthen awareness among hotel employees and encourage responsible digital practices to help prevent cybercrime.
