Panaji, October 9, 2026: Sohan Uskaikar, GCS, has taken over as the new Managing Director of the Goa Industrial Development Corporation (Goa-IDC), marking a new phase in the Corporationโs efforts to strengthen Goaโs industrial ecosystem, facilitate investment and support sustainable economic growth.
In his new role, Uskaikar will lead the Corporationโs ongoing initiatives to improve ease of doing business, strengthen industrial infrastructure and support enterprises operating across the stateโs industrial estates. His priorities will include transparent governance, efficient service delivery and creating an investor-friendly environment for businesses to establish, expand and grow in Goa.
Goa-IDC plays an important role in the stateโs industrial development by providing industrial land and infrastructure, streamlining administrative processes and facilitating investor requirements. The Corporation continues to work towards making industrial services more accessible, improving administrative efficiency and supporting business growth across its industrial estates.
Focus on Investment and Sustainable Industrial Growth
Speaking after assuming charge, Uskaikar said it was a privilege to lead an institution that plays an important role in advancing Goaโs industrial development.
He said his priorities would include building a transparent, responsive and investor-friendly environment that enables industries to operate efficiently and explore new opportunities. He also emphasised strengthening industrial infrastructure, improving ease of doing business and facilitating investments that generate employment and contribute to the stateโs economic progress.
Uskaikar highlighted the importance of ensuring that industrial development remains sustainable and inclusive while aligning with Goaโs long-term interests. He expressed his intention to work closely with the state government, industry stakeholders, entrepreneurs and the Goa-IDC team to advance these objectives.
Experience Within Goa-IDC
Uskaikar brings four years of experience as General Manager of Goa-IDC. His familiarity with the Corporationโs operations, industrial development priorities and industry stakeholders is expected to support continuity in its functioning and strengthen investor facilitation and service delivery.
His appointment comes as Goa-IDC continues its efforts to improve the experience of businesses engaging with the Corporation and to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem.
Reforms and Digital Initiatives
As part of its continuing reform agenda, Goa-IDC is working to improve the delivery of industrial services, promote greater transparency in land allotment and related procedures, and strengthen infrastructure across its industrial estates.
The Corporationโs digital initiatives and investor facilitation measures are intended to simplify procedures, reduce administrative delays and make it easier for businesses to access its services.
