Mohanlal’s ‘Athimanoharam’ Wraps Filming, Moves Into Post-Production

KOCHI: Mohanlal’s upcoming Malayalam film ‘Athimanoharam’ has reached a major milestone, with the makers officially announcing the completion of filming. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, the film stars Meera Jasmine as the female lead and has generated considerable interest among Malayalam cinema audiences.

Producer Ashiq Usman announced the pack-up on Instagram, sharing a brief update that read, “Athimanoharam pack up #ᴍᴏʜᴀɴʟᴀʟ.”

With principal photography now complete, the project has moved into its post-production phase. Dubbing had already commenced in August, indicating that the team had begun working on the next stage even before the final schedule concluded.

Shooting Reaches the Finish Line

‘Athimanoharam’ has been filmed across multiple locations and has gone through an extensive production schedule.

In June, director Tharun Moorthy had shared an update after another schedule was completed, revealing that approximately 80 per cent of the filming had been completed at the time.

The director had also acknowledged the challenges faced by the cast and crew, particularly due to changing weather conditions.

He had described the completed schedule as another successful phase of production, noting that the team had worked through rain, heat and other challenges.

With the final schedule now wrapped, the makers can concentrate entirely on post-production and the finishing work ahead of the film’s release.

Dubbing Already Underway

The transition into post-production had begun even before the official pack-up announcement.

In August, Ashiq Usman revealed that dubbing for ‘Athimanoharam’ had commenced, sharing a picture from the dubbing process on Instagram Stories.

The development indicates that the makers are already progressing with the film’s dialogue and sound-related work, while other post-production activities continue.

With filming completed and dubbing underway, the project has now entered an important stage as the team works towards completing the film and revealing further details about its theatrical release.

Director Had Dismissed Reports of Production Halt

‘Athimanoharam’ had earlier attracted attention after reports circulated online claiming that production had been halted due to confusion surrounding the screenplay.

Tharun Moorthy subsequently dismissed those reports and clarified that filming was continuing as planned.

In an Instagram Stories post, the filmmaker described the reports as “completely false.”

At the time, he revealed that the team had already completed 78 days of shooting in Thodupuzha, while acknowledging that rain and weather conditions had created some practical challenges.

Despite the difficulties, Moorthy said the cast and crew remained committed to completing the production with enthusiasm and positivity.

He had also urged people to verify information before sharing unconfirmed reports about ongoing film productions.

From #L366 to ‘Athimanoharam’

The project was initially introduced under the working title #L366.

Mohanlal plays T S Lovelajan, a police officer, adding another distinctive character to the actor’s diverse filmography.

Now that the cameras have stopped rolling, the focus shifts to the post-production process, including dubbing and other finishing work.

With filming officially wrapped, the next significant updates from the makers are expected to revolve around the film’s post-production progress and its eventual theatrical release plans.
