M.E.F.’s Group of Institutions Celebrates READ-A-THON, Honours Library Professionals on National Librarian’s Day

Ponda, Goa: M.E.F.’s Group of Institutions, Nagamasjid, Ponda, organised a grand Prize Distribution Function for READ-A-THON (Library Week) at the Fatima High School Hall to commemorate National Librarian’s Day.

The event brought together students, educators and members of the institution to celebrate reading, learning and the important role played by libraries in shaping young minds.

The READ-A-THON initiative was organised with the objective of cultivating reading habits, encouraging curiosity and fostering a culture of knowledge and continuous learning among students. The prize distribution ceremony recognised students who demonstrated enthusiasm and excellence during the initiative.

The programme also highlighted the achievements of students in areas including innovation, technology and research, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on developing students beyond conventional academics.

The celebrations also provided an opportunity to honour library professionals, recognising their valuable contribution towards creating learning environments and encouraging students to explore books, information and new ideas.

The institution emphasised that initiatives such as READ-A-THON play an important role in nurturing not only academically capable students but also responsible and well-rounded individuals.

Shri Pritesh Gaonkar, Zilla Panchayat Member from Curti Constituency and Logistics Manager at Bisleri International–Goa Plant, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The event concluded with the recognition of student achievements and an appreciation of the educators and library professionals who continue to support the institution’s learning ecosystem.

Through READ-A-THON, M.E.F.’s Group of Institutions reaffirmed its commitment to promoting reading, creativity, innovation and lifelong learning among students.
