Goa, August 2026: St. Xavier’s College, Goa, and The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the Peace Education Program (PEP) among students and educators, with a focus on holistic development, well-being and value-based education.

Established in 1963, St. Xavier’s College is among North Goa’s established institutions of higher education and has continued to emphasise academic excellence alongside holistic and value-based learning.

The collaboration with TPRF is aimed at strengthening these efforts by providing students and educators with opportunities to develop greater self-awareness, resilience, clarity and inner strength.

MoU Signed to Introduce Peace Education

The MoU was signed by Ms. Ursula Barreto, Principal, St. Xavier’s College, Goa, and Dr. Avinasha Sharma, representing The Prem Rawat Foundation.

Members of the TPRF team, including Rajeshree and Anil, were also present at the signing ceremony. Fr. Ramrio Luis attended the occasion as well.

Experiential Approach to Inner Development

The Peace Education Program uses an experiential and reflective approach, encouraging participants to explore practical ways of understanding themselves and developing inner resources.

The programme uses activities, video-based learning and interactions to explore themes connected to personal well-being and everyday life.

The ten workshops focus on:

  • Peace
  • Appreciation
  • Self-Awareness
  • Inner Strength
  • Clarity
  • Understanding
  • Dignity
  • Choice
  • Hope
  • Contentment

The programme seeks to help participants develop qualities such as resilience, intentional decision-making, appreciation and stronger interpersonal relationships.

Global Reach

According to the organisation, the Peace Education Program has been conducted in 84 countries, translated into more than 40 languages, and has reached over 7.5 lakh participants worldwide.

The programme has also been made available in India through SWAYAM Plus, under the Ministry of Education, providing students, educators and lifelong learners access to the programme through India’s digital learning ecosystem.

Aligning with NEP 2020

The partnership also reflects several aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which places emphasis on holistic development, values, well-being and social and emotional capabilities.

Through the initiative, students and teachers will have access to tools and learning experiences focused on self-awareness, emotional resilience, clarity, inner strength and peace.

The collaboration aims to contribute to a positive learning environment while supporting students in navigating academic, personal and professional challenges.

Focus on Education Beyond Academics

The MoU represents a shared commitment by St. Xavier’s College and The Prem Rawat Foundation to place human well-being and inner development alongside academic learning.

By encouraging students and educators to explore their inner resources and develop greater awareness and resilience, the initiative seeks to support the development of individuals who can contribute positively to their communities and society.
