Mumbai: Television actor Kushal Tandon has responded to allegations made by actress Shreya Kalra, who claimed on Lock Upp 2 that he had initiated conversations with her on social media while he was reportedly in a relationship with actress Shivangi Joshi.
Addressing the controversy during the latest episode of Alliance, Kushal categorically denied the allegations and stated that it was Shreya who reached out to him after they worked together on a promotional shoot for Barsaatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka.
Explaining his side of the story, Kushal said the promo was originally expected to feature both of them prominently, but the final version largely focused on him, with Shreya appearing only briefly.
According to Kushal, Shreya later messaged him expressing disappointment over the outcome of the promotional video.
When questioned by fellow contestant Kashish Kapoor about who had initiated the conversation, Kushal replied, “She texted me, of course! I don’t DM girls.”
He further stated that Shreya had written to him saying she had hoped to work with him and was unhappy with how the promo turned out. Kushal claimed he advised her that accepting such a minor appearance was not beneficial for her career and that she deserved better opportunities.
The controversy began after Shreya Kalra alleged on Lock Upp 2 that Kushal had flirted with her through direct messages after their promotional shoot. She also claimed she later discovered that Kushal was allegedly in a relationship with Shivangi Joshi at the time and therefore chose to distance herself.
Shreya further alleged that during a later interaction, Shivangi mentioned Kushal had told her that Shreya had followed and messaged him, prompting Shreya to defend herself and insist she had never approached him first.
Kushal’s latest remarks directly contradict Shreya’s version of events, adding another chapter to the ongoing controversy surrounding the actors’ differing accounts.
Neither Shivangi Joshi nor Shreya Kalra has publicly responded to Kushal Tandon’s latest statements at the time of writing.
