Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Goa’s promising kickboxing athlete Giovanna De Sequeira has made the state proud by winning a Silver Medal at the prestigious WAKO National Kickboxing Championship 2026, held in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, from June 17 to 21.
Representing the WAKO Kickboxing Association Goa, Giovanna competed in the Younger Cadet (-32 kg) category and participated in both the Kick Light (KL) and Light Contact (LC) disciplines.
Her impressive performance in the Kick Light event earned her a Silver Medal after displaying exceptional determination, technical skill and fighting spirit against some of the country’s most talented young kickboxers.
Outstanding Achievement on a National Stage
The championship attracted nearly 1,300 athletes from across India, making it one of the largest kickboxing competitions in the country.
Competing against top-level opponents, Giovanna demonstrated remarkable resilience and confidence throughout the tournament.
A notable highlight of her campaign was that she fought the highest number of bouts among the Goan contingent, showcasing outstanding endurance, consistency and competitive spirit.
Training Under Expert Guidance
Giovanna trains at the Academy of Combat Sports Goa (ACS-GOA) under the guidance of Coach Raunak Singh (Coach Ronnyy), who serves as Assistant Coach of the WAKO Kickboxing Association Goa.
Her success reflects not only her personal dedication and discipline but also the quality coaching and support provided by ACS-GOA.
