Dabolim, Goa: To commemorate the remarkable growth and transformation of India’s aviation sector over the past 12 years, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) will celebrate ‘Yatri Suwidha Diwas’ on June 15, 2026. Goa International Airport, Dabolim, has planned a vibrant day-long programme featuring passenger engagement activities, cultural showcases, wellness initiatives, and staff recognition events.
According to Airport Director Flt. Lt. Akash Deep, the celebrations aim to enhance passenger experience while acknowledging the contributions of airport personnel who ensure smooth operations and high service standards.
The event will be graced by Mauvin Godinho, Hon’ble Minister for Transport, Industries, Panchayat Raj and Protocol, Government of Goa, who will attend as Chief Guest. He will felicitate airport achievers and address the gathering on the importance of evolving transit infrastructure in the region.
A key feature of the programme will be the recognition of airport staff and service providers. Dedicated housekeeping personnel will be honoured for their commitment to maintaining world-class standards at Goa Dabolim Airport. Women achievers from the aviation sector will also be felicitated for their leadership, resilience, and contributions.
Passengers travelling through the airport on June 15 will be welcomed with traditional Goan hospitality, including a ceremonial tika welcome upon arrival. Cultural activities and live brass band performances will be organised in the terminal areas, creating a festive atmosphere for travellers.
A special CISF dog show and tactical demonstration will be conducted in the Security Hold Area, offering passengers an insight into the airport’s security operations.
The airport will also host an Interactive Passenger Hub featuring painting activities for children, a waste-to-art exhibition showcasing creative installations made from recycled materials, selfie points, and exclusive offers at selected food, beverage, and retail outlets. Passengers will also have the opportunity to participate in a culinary session organised by TFS and attend an informative interaction on Air Traffic Control and aviation careers.
As part of its sustainability efforts, the airport will showcase innovative products made from repurposed waste materials, highlighting environmentally responsible practices.
Staff welfare remains an important focus of the celebrations. An eye check-up camp and a general health check-up camp will be organised for airport employees. A blood donation drive will also be held at the AAI Training Hall, reinforcing the airport community’s commitment to social responsibility.
The celebrations will begin with the mass singing of Vande Mataram, bringing together passengers, airport authorities, staff, and guests in a moment of national pride and unity.
Through Yatri Suwidha Diwas, Goa Dabolim Airport seeks to strengthen passenger engagement, recognise employee contributions, and showcase the progress of India’s aviation sector while delivering a memorable experience for travellers.
