Narendra Modi caught public attention on Tuesday after arriving from his residence to the office for a Cabinet meeting with an unusually small convoy consisting of just two vehicles.
The rare sight quickly became a major talking point across social media and political circles, as the Prime Ministerโs convoy is generally known for its extensive security arrangements involving multiple escort and protection vehicles.
Under standard security protocol, the Prime Ministerโs movement follows the guidelines laid out in the โBlue Bookโ, the official document governing the security arrangements for the Prime Minister of India.
According to the established protocol, the Prime Ministerโs convoy typically consists of around 14 to 17 vehicles, including security, communication, medical support and escort units. Depending on the threat perception and security requirements, additional vehicles from state police forces and other security agencies are also deployed.
In several instances, the overall convoy strength can rise to nearly 30 to 40 vehicles during high-security movements.
However, Modiโs latest movement with an extremely limited convoy stood out due to its simplicity and reduced scale, drawing curiosity among observers and the public alike.
While there has been no official statement regarding the reason behind the smaller convoy, the visuals quickly circulated online, with many users commenting on the unusual nature of the Prime Ministerโs travel arrangement.
The Prime Minister was travelling for an important Cabinet meeting, where discussions on key national matters were expected to take place.
