Munawar Faruqui and his wife Mehzabeen Coatwala have officially introduced their newborn daughter to fans and revealed her name as Barirah Munawar Faruqui.
The couple recently welcomed their first child together, and on May 13, Mehzabeen shared adorable family pictures on Instagram, offering fans the first glimpse of their baby girl.
In the emotional post, Mehzabeen explained the meaning behind the name “Barirah,” writing, “Alhamdulillah, on 1/5/2026, we were blessed with a precious daughter whom we named- Barirah Munawar Faruqui, a beautiful reflection of purity, virtue, and righteousness. May Allah (SWT) bless her with strong faith and fill her life with endless barakah and mercy. Ameen.”
The pictures featured Munawar and Mehzabeen lovingly holding their daughter, whose face was covered with a pink heart emoji. Another image showed a customised name tag with “Barirah” written on it, alongside celebratory decorations, balloons, gifts and a cake marking the arrival of the newborn.
The family photos also included Munawar’s son Mikael and Mehzabeen’s daughter from her previous marriage, reflecting the couple’s blended family journey.
Earlier, Munawar had announced the birth of his daughter through a heartfelt social media post from the hospital. Sharing a few intimate moments without revealing faces, he wrote, “Ghar barkat aayi. Blessed… dua mai khas yaad rakhe.”
Munawar and Mehzabeen tied the knot in 2024 in a private ceremony. The comedian, who generally keeps his personal life away from the spotlight, later spoke about his marriage during an appearance on Farah Khan’s vlog.
Speaking emotionally about the decision, Munawar had shared that his son Mikael played a major role in shaping his choice to remarry. He revealed that he wanted to create a stable family environment for his son, while also understanding Mehzabeen’s similar responsibilities as a parent.
The couple’s latest post has now received an outpouring of love online, with fans congratulating them and praising the meaningful name chosen for their daughter.
