Akshay Kumar Undergoes Eye Surgery After Wrapping Film Schedule With Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna

Akshay Kumar has reportedly undergone a minor eye surgery after recently completing a shooting schedule for his upcoming film directed by Anees Bazmee. According to reports, the procedure was related to vision correction, and the actor is now taking a short break from work to recover.

The development comes shortly after the release of Akshay’s latest film Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, which recently completed its theatrical run. Reports suggest that the actor underwent the procedure on May 6 after wrapping the Kerala schedule of his next project, which also stars Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna.

A day before the reported surgery, Akshay had shared a cheerful update from the film set on social media alongside his co-stars. Sharing a photo with Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna, he wrote, “Keralam schedule wrapped! Nothing beats working with good people in a beautiful place. Big love to our director Anees Bazmee for the madness behind the camera and to my incredible co-stars Vidya, Raashii, Chota Rajpal and the entire crew! This one’s been special.”

On the occasion of World Laughter Day, the actor also posted a compilation of funny moments from his films, writing, “Kisi ne bataya aaj World Laughter Day hai. Maine socha ho jaye! Hanste rahiye, hansaate rahiye.”

Apart from Bhooth Bangla, Akshay has a packed slate ahead with films including Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan and Golmaal 5.

The actor also recently addressed ongoing speculation surrounding Hera Pheri 3 during an Instagram Live interaction with fans. Responding to repeated questions about the project, Akshay said there were currently no concrete updates regarding the film.

“Hera Pheri mujhe laga hi tha ye question aane hi wala hai. Hera Pheri par abhi toh filhal kuch bhi nahi hai,” he said, leaving fans disappointed about the uncertain future of the much-awaited comedy franchise.
