Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Daughter Samara Set for Bollywood Debut with Daadi Ki Shaadi

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Daadi Ki Shaadi, marking a significant moment for the Kapoor family. Adding to the excitement, the film will also feature the acting debut of her daughter Samara Sahni.

The daughter of late legendary actor Rishi Kapoor and veteran actor Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima shared that stepping into films at the age of 45 feels both emotional and surreal.

“It truly feels surreal and deeply emotional. There’s a sense of everything coming full circle,” she said while speaking about her debut journey. Remembering her late father, she added, “I know my father is always with me, blessing me in anything and everything that I choose to do. That thought gives me a lot of strength and comfort.”

Riddhima admitted that entering the film industry at this stage of life came with its own challenges. She described the experience as vulnerable yet exciting.

“Honestly, the biggest challenge was stepping into an entirely new world at this stage of life. There’s a certain vulnerability in starting fresh, but also a lot of excitement at the same time,” she shared.

The film also gave Riddhima an opportunity to work alongside her mother, Neetu Kapoor. Reflecting on the experience, she said it was special to observe her mother’s natural acting abilities up close.

“Working with mom was incredibly special. I discovered how effortless and instinctive she is as an actor,” she said.

Riddhima also revealed that her brother Ranbir Kapoor offered valuable advice before she faced the camera for the first time.

“Stay natural and don’t overthink. Just feel the moment. That really helped me ease into my performance,” she said.

One of the most emotional aspects of the project for Riddhima has been seeing her daughter Samara make her own screen debut. Though Samara’s role is brief, Riddhima described the moment as deeply special.

“It’s a small but very sweet appearance. As a mother, it’s such a proud and emotional moment to see your child on screen,” she shared.

Riddhima also credited her earlier experience with reality television for helping her feel comfortable in front of the camera, making the shift to films easier.

“Being in front of the camera for a show made me comfortable. It gave me a sense of ease and familiarity, which definitely made this transition smoother,” she added.

Daadi Ki Shaadi is set to release this Friday and has already generated attention for bringing another generation of the Kapoor family to the big screen.
