Actor Yami Gautam has shared her perspective on the massive success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, stating that neither the film’s achievements nor its box office milestones have changed her husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar.
In a recent interview with Grazia, Yami emphasised that Aditya remains grounded and unaffected despite the film’s remarkable performance. “Nothing has changed us as people. That also comes from Aditya… he is very unaffected and extremely humble,” she said, reflecting on his personality through various phases of life.
She added that their outlook has always been rooted in patience and gratitude, noting that they believe success may be delayed but is never denied.
Speaking about the broader impact of the film, Yami highlighted how Dhurandhar: The Revenge signals a shift in audience preferences and industry trends. According to her, the success reinforces that strong storytelling and solid scripts remain at the heart of cinema.
“This is why I said it was always a director’s medium… the basics are back, so that’s a massive shift,” she explained, adding that the industry had been experimenting to bring audiences back to theatres.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film features a powerful ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. The music by Shashwat Sachdev has also contributed to the film’s growing popularity.
Meanwhile, the film continues its strong box office run. After 41 days in theatres, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has grossed ₹1,780.82 crore worldwide and is now just ₹8 crore away from surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, one of Indian cinema’s biggest global benchmarks.
The film’s consistent performance highlights a renewed audience interest in compelling narratives, marking a significant moment for the industry.
