Booking.com Traveller Review Awards 2026: Goa Among India’s Most Welcoming Regions


Booking.com has recognised Goa among the 10 Most Welcoming Regions in India as part of its 14th annual Traveller Review Awards 2026, reaffirming the State’s enduring appeal as a warm and hospitable destination. The global travel platform, known for connecting travellers with accommodation and transport services worldwide, bases the awards on the share of accommodation partners earning a Traveller Review Award for delivering authentic and caring guest experiences.

This year, Goa has retained its position among India’s most welcoming regions, while Mandrem has emerged as one of the top 10 Most Welcoming Destinations in the country. Other welcoming destinations within Goa highlighted for their hospitality include Agonda, Palolem, Arambol, and Morjim, reflecting the State’s diverse coastal charm and community-driven tourism ethos.

The awards are powered by more than 370 million verified traveller reviews worldwide. In 2026, a total of 17,575 travel partners in India received the Traveller Review Awards, marking an increase from 15,674 recipients in 2025. Globally, a record-breaking 1.81 million partners were recognised, including over 1.8 million accommodation providers, 1,977 rental car companies, and 137 airport transfer suppliers.

This year’s awards also reflect evolving traveller preferences across India. Hotels continue to be the most popular accommodation choice, with 6,650 award recipients, followed by homestays (2,652), apartments (1,984), resorts (1,338), and guest houses (1,218). The numbers highlight a growing demand for personalised and unique travel experiences.

The 2026 list of Most Welcoming Regions in India includes Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Puducherry, Assam, Karnataka, and Haryana. Among the Most Welcoming Destinations are Bir, Mararikulam, Jaisalmer, McLeod Ganj, Mukteswar, Khajuraho, Bhim Tal, Manali, Hampi, and Mandrem.

He noted that Goa’s continued recognition reflects its vibrant culture and coastal charm, with local partners playing a crucial role in making India a memorable destination for travellers from around the world.

Goa Crowned ‘Best Romantic Destination’ at Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2025

Goa has been conferred with the Winner – Best Romantic Destination at the prestigious Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards 2025, further reaffirming its position as one of India’s most admired and loved travel destinations. The award was presented at a distinguished ceremony held at Nandiya Gardens, ITC Maurya, New Delhi, on December 16, 2025. The honour on behalf of the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, was received by Ms. Swati Prabhu Shastri, currently serving at Goa Sadan on deputation from the Education Department.

This recognition highlights Goa’s timeless appeal, from its scenic coastline and intimate hospitality experiences to its vibrant cultural fabric and seamless balance of luxury with laid-back charm. Over the years, Goa has evolved beyond its beach identity, offering meaningful experiences rooted in heritage, wellness, hinterland exploration, and responsible tourism, making it a preferred destination for couples and travellers alike.

Reacting to the recognition, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism Shri Rohan A. Khaunte described the award as a proud moment for the state, noting that Goa offers far more than picturesque landscapes. He emphasised that the essence of romance in Goa lies in its culture, warmth, authenticity, and strong sense of place, while reiterating the government’s commitment to regenerative tourism that benefits both visitors and local communities.

Director of Tourism Shri Kedar Naik also welcomed the honour, stating that the recognition reflects the consistent efforts of the Department of Tourism, industry stakeholders, and local communities. He highlighted how curated experiences such as heritage stays, wellness retreats, immersive cultural encounters, and responsible tourism initiatives continue to strengthen Goa’s identity while keeping pace with evolving traveller expectations.

Now in its 14th year, the Travel + Leisure India’s Best Awards is a marquee celebration recognising excellence across the travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors. This accolade reinforces Goa’s positioning as a destination that effortlessly blends celebration with serenity, luxury with simplicity, and romance with sustainability. How to Pack for a Weekend Trip?


Weekend Trip… As soon as the news breaks of a weekend trip, well you tend to plan all sorts of things, what it take, what not to take. What you will require, what you will not.! But hell, one of the biggest mistake atleast girls that is we do is that we tend to overpack like a lot of things, like seriously like a lot of things.

However, best ways to pack for the weekend trip would be to stick to basics and at the same time to look daunting!

Selecting the Right Bag – First of all, Chuck Suitcase out of this Trip! Remember, this is a weekend Trip, so select a small backup that will be able to carry your essentials in it!

What’s On Your Travel Itinerary? – Whenever you pack, consider the itinerary that will help you pack for the trip the best. Suppose you are going for an adventure trip like that of trekking, swimming, taking heels wouldn’t serve the purpose at all. So avoid taking them!

Selective Clothes Only – Try to take selecting clothes only. You could take a couple of shorts or troussers and the same could be mixed matched with the t-shirts, try to include bright colors in your wadrobe also whites and blacks look great!  But pack only clothes if you are going to wear them, be true to yourself.

Have a Final Look – Here you can take a final look and deduct unneccesary clothing, systematically packing clothes will help you to wear them directly without having to iron them again. Also, remember when you plan to go for trips like these, wear always the heaviest shoe rather than packing them. This saves the pain of carrying them on your back.

To end with, remember pack only essentials. If there is space in your bag pack, great! you could pick a souvenir for yourself and for me too!
