Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan brought a touch of old-school romance to fashion designer Manish Malhotra’s Diwali party in Mumbai on Thursday night. The couple arrived together and paused to pose for the paparazzi, but it was their affectionate moments that caught everyone’s attention.
Dressed in a red saree, Aishwarya was seen blushing as Abhishek held her hand while they posed for photographers. The two exchanged warm smiles and affectionate glances, giving fans a glimpse of their chemistry.
Aishwarya completed her look with an elaborate gold-bordered saree, kundan jewellery, matching bangles and red lipstick. Abhishek opted for a textured black ethnic jacket paired with black trousers and glasses.
The star-studded celebration was attended by several Bollywood celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol and Karan Johar.
Videos and photographs from the evening also drew reactions from fans on social media. Several users appreciated the couple’s appearance and chemistry, with comments praising their smiles and togetherness.
A 19-year journey together
Aishwarya and Abhishek have been married for 19 years. They first met on the sets of Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke in 2000 and tied the knot on April 20, 2007. The couple has shared screen space in films such as Kuch Naa Kaho, Umrao Jaan, Guru and Dhoom 2. They welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in 2011.
Their wedding was one of Bollywood’s widely followed celebrity events. Before the wedding, Aishwarya was surprised by a traditional roka ceremony organised by the Bachchan family shortly after Abhishek proposed.
In an earlier interview with Filmfare, Aishwarya recalled that she was unfamiliar with the roka tradition, as she came from a South Indian family. She remembered being taken by surprise when Abhishek called to inform her that his family was on its way to her home.
The Diwali appearance has once again brought the couple into the spotlight, with their affectionate moments becoming a talking point among fans.
