Goa’s Fire & Emergency Services are now integrated with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS)-112, providing a unified emergency response mechanism for residents across the state.
As part of the integration, calls made to the former 101 fire emergency helpline will be automatically routed to 112 for processing and dispatch.
Residents are advised to dial 112 in the event of a fire, rescue situation or any other emergency. Callers should provide clear and accurate information about the nature of the emergency, along with the exact location, to help emergency responders reach the spot efficiently.
The unified system is aimed at making emergency communication more streamlined and ensuring that genuine emergency calls receive appropriate attention and response.
Authorities have also urged the public to use 112 responsibly, stressing that every genuine emergency matters and that the helpline should be used only when emergency assistance is required.
