Air India and IHG Hotels & Resorts have announced a new loyalty partnership that connects Air India’s Maharaja Club with IHG One Rewards, giving members new ways to earn and exchange loyalty rewards across their travel journeys.
The partnership brings together IHG’s global portfolio of more than 7,100 hotels across over 100 countries with Air India’s network spanning India and five continents, offering members greater value, choice and flexibility across both air travel and hospitality.
Maharaja Club Members Can Earn Points Through IHG Stays
Under the partnership, Air India Maharaja Club members will be able to earn Maharaja Points when staying at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide.
Members will earn 2 Maharaja Points for every US$1 spent at most IHG hotels and resorts.
Stays at Candlewood Suites, Staybridge Suites, IHG Residences and IHG Army Hotels will earn 1 Maharaja Point for every US$1 spent.
Maharaja Club members will also be able to convert their IHG One Rewards Points into Maharaja Points, with 1,000 IHG One Rewards Points exchangeable for 200 Maharaja Points. The minimum exchange threshold is 1,000 IHG One Rewards Points.
Special 3X Launch Offer
To mark the launch of the partnership, Maharaja Club members will be eligible to earn 3X Maharaja Points on qualifying stays between September 15 and December 31, 2026.
There will be no blackout dates applicable during the promotional period. Members will, however, need to register for the promotion to receive the enhanced points benefit.
Strengthening Two Major Loyalty Ecosystems
Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the partnership brings together two leading travel brands and creates greater value for members across their journeys.
He highlighted India’s importance to IHG’s growth strategy and said the collaboration would provide members with greater choice and flexibility while strengthening the reach of IHG One Rewards in India.
Sunil Suresh, Head of Marketing, Loyalty and E-commerce, Air India, said Maharaja Club is evolving alongside Air India’s transformation, with a greater focus on experiences beyond the flight itself.
According to Suresh, the partnership with IHG expands Maharaja Club’s reach into another important part of the travel journey and supports the airline’s vision of making Maharaja Points increasingly relevant across travel and lifestyle experiences.
IHG Continues to Expand in India
IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 53 hotels across seven brands in India, with a further 110 hotels in its pipeline expected to open over the next three to five years.
Its portfolio in India includes brands such as Six Senses, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Vignette Collection, Crowne Plaza, voco Hotels, Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express.
Globally, IHG One Rewards has more than 160 million members, making it one of the world’s largest hotel loyalty programmes.
Maharaja Club Expands Partnership Network
Air India recently crossed the milestone of adding more than 100 brands to the Maharaja Club partnership network between FY2023 and FY2026, as the programme evolves into a modern, globally relevant and lifestyle-led loyalty ecosystem.
During FY2026, Maharaja Club members completed more than 4.2 million transactions across partner brands, spanning travel, hospitality, lifestyle and everyday spending categories.
The new IHG partnership further expands those opportunities, connecting airline and hotel loyalty benefits and giving travellers more flexibility in how they earn and use rewards.
