Mapusa: St. Mary’s Convent High School, Mapusa, successfully held its Parent-Teacher Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 11, 2026, with the enthusiastic participation of parents, teachers and members of the school management.
The programme commenced with a prayer service, followed by a warm welcome address by the Headmistress, Sr. Rosarina, A.C. She highlighted the important role played by parents and teachers in working together for the holistic development of every child.
During the meeting, parents were presented with an overview of the school’s academic achievements, co-curricular activities, discipline, attendance and future plans. The AGM provided an opportunity for the school and parents to strengthen their partnership and reaffirm their shared commitment towards the overall growth and well-being of students.
The Chief Guest for the programme, Mr. Miguel Braganza, delivered an inspiring address on the relationship between the environment, livelihoods and overall well-being. Having worked with the Directorate of Agriculture and Goa University and contributed towards the establishment of Goa’s first College of Agriculture in 2015, Braganza shared valuable insights on the importance of environmental responsibility.
He encouraged the gathering to adopt sustainable and environmentally conscious practices, stressing that protecting nature is essential for building a healthier and more sustainable future.
A special highlight of the AGM was the felicitation of the meritorious SSC students of the 2025–2026 batch. The Parent-Teacher Association honoured the students in recognition of their outstanding performance in the SSC examination.
The achievers were presented with certificates and mementoes amid loud applause from parents, teachers and fellow students. The PTA congratulated the students for their dedication, perseverance and hard work and wished them continued success in their future academic journeys.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, parents, teachers and everyone who contributed towards the successful organisation of the AGM.
The event strengthened the bond between the school and parents while reaffirming their shared vision of providing quality education and nurturing responsible, capable and environmentally conscious citizens.
