JCI Ponda Felicitates Over 80 Meritorious Students for Academic Excellence

Ponda, August 2, 2026: JCI Ponda, in association with Shri Madhavrao Dhavalikar Charitable Trust, organised a felicitation ceremony to honour meritorious students from Ponda Municipality and Curti-Khandepar Panchayat who excelled in the SSC and HSSC Examinations 2025–26.

The ceremony was held at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda, and celebrated the academic achievements of more than 80 students, recognising their dedication, hard work and commitment to education.

The programme was graced by Shri Sudin Dhavalikar, Hon’ble Minister for Power, Government of Goa, as the Chief Guest. Dr. M. S. Krupashankara, Principal, Goa College of Engineering, and Shri Krishna S. Shetye, President, Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal, attended the programme as Guests of Honour.

The initiative aimed not only to recognise academic excellence but also to encourage young achievers to pursue higher education and strive for greater accomplishments in their future endeavours.

The felicitation provided an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of students who performed exceptionally well in their board examinations, while also acknowledging the support of parents, teachers and educational institutions in their journey.

More than 80 meritorious students from the local communities were felicitated during the event. The recognition is expected to serve as a source of motivation for the students as they take their next steps in their academic and professional journeys.

Through initiatives such as these, JCI Ponda continues to encourage youth development, educational excellence and community-oriented programmes.

The programme was organised under the leadership of JC Adv. Chaitali Agarwadekar, President, JCI Ponda, with JC Srinivas Inamdar, Secretary, and JC Amey Shet Tilve, Project Director, playing key roles in the initiative.

The ceremony concluded on an encouraging note, celebrating the achievements of Goa’s young students and reinforcing the importance of recognising and nurturing academic talent within the community.
