Panaji, Goa: More than 90 young chess players from across Goa participated in the Under-13 All-Goa Rapid Chess Tournament 2026, held at Mall De Goa on August 9, 2026.
The tournament was conducted under the auspices of the Goa Chess Association, in association with the Bardez Taluka Chess Association and Bharat Vikas Parishad, Goa Prant – Panaji Branch.
The event brought together young chess enthusiasts in the Under-7, Under-9 and Under-11 categories, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive environment.
Encouraging Young Chess Talent
The tournament aimed to promote chess among children while encouraging important qualities such as strategic thinking, discipline, concentration and sportsmanship.
The enthusiastic participation from young players across Goa highlighted the growing interest in chess among children and provided a valuable platform for budding players to gain competitive experience.
The winners were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies, medals and certificates in recognition of their performances.

The event was attended by several dignitaries and representatives associated with chess and community organisations.

The successful tournament provided a platform for young chess players to compete, learn and build confidence while strengthening the culture of chess among Goa’s younger generation.
With strong participation and enthusiastic support from the organisers and community, the event concluded on a positive note, encouraging more children to take up chess and pursue the sport competitively.
