Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is all set to return to television with a brand-new reality quiz show, India Ke Top 1%. The highly anticipated show will premiere on September 5 on Star Plus and will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.
The Indian adaptation of the internationally successful format The 1% Club promises to bring a fresh twist to the quiz show genre. Unlike traditional quiz programmes that focus on general knowledge and current affairs, India Ke Top 1% will challenge contestants on their logical thinking, observation skills, pattern recognition and presence of mind.
Hosted by Anil Kapoor, the show marks his return to reality television after hosting Bigg Boss OTT 3. Produced by Banijay Asia, the programme aims to introduce audiences to a new style of non-fiction entertainment.
Speaking about the show, Anil Kapoor said that India Ke Top 1% is unlike anything viewers have seen before. He explained that the challenges are not about how much information a person remembers, but how effectively they can think under pressure.
The actor added that audiences watching from home will also get the opportunity to participate and test their own thinking abilities along with the contestants.
The format originated in the UK as The 1% Club and has expanded globally with adaptations in several countries, including Australia, Germany, Spain, Greece, Israel, Turkey, Ukraine, Mexico, the Netherlands and the United States.
With its unique concept and Anil Kapoor’s energetic hosting style, India Ke Top 1% is expected to bring a new dimension to weekend television entertainment.
