Mapusa, Goa: In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing child safety and strengthening child rights protection, Mapusa MLA Joshua De Souza conducted an interactive session with the heads of educational institutions and faculty members from SSC and Higher Secondary schools across Mapusa as part of the “Safe & Seen” campaign, in collaboration with SCAN Goa.
The session brought together school leaders and educators to discuss the growing challenges faced by children in today’s society and explore practical ways educational institutions can play a greater role in safeguarding students.
The interaction focused on creating stronger awareness around child rights, prevention mechanisms, empowerment of children, and establishing effective support systems within schools.
Speaking during the session, Joshua De Souza highlighted the critical responsibility of educational institutions in nurturing safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every child feels protected, respected, and heard.
The “Safe & Seen” campaign seeks to equip schools with the necessary knowledge, awareness, and resources to effectively address child safety concerns while strengthening the overall child protection framework across Mapusa.
The initiative also encourages educators to actively identify concerns, promote awareness of children’s rights, and foster an environment where students are empowered to speak up without fear.
By bringing together educators, institutions, and child welfare stakeholders, the campaign aims to ensure the protection, dignity, and overall well-being of every child while building a stronger and more responsive child rights ecosystem in Mapusa.
