WTC Goa Launches Export Facilitation Centre to Help Local MSMEs Access Global Markets Through Dubai

Panaji: The World Trade Center (WTC) Goa, in association with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), has announced the launch of a new Export Facilitation Centre aimed at helping Goan exporters and MSMEs access international markets more efficiently.

The announcement was made during an international seminar titled “Dubai: The Business Gateway to Global Trade” held at Caculo Mall, St. Inez, Panaji, which brought together entrepreneurs, exporters, industry leaders, and professionals to explore global business opportunities.

WTC Goa to Bridge Export Support Gaps

Speaking at the seminar, Cyril D’Souza, Regional Director – Trade Promotion, WTC Goa, said the new facilitation centre will operate from WTC Goa and provide practical support to exporters navigating international trade processes.

“We have set up the Export Facilitation Centre which will operate from WTC Goa. This will help all exporters as they move forward in their business. Since agencies like DGFT and APEDA do not have offices in Goa, exporters often face difficulties in correspondence and liaison. WTC Goa, in partnership with Laghu Udyog Bharati and the Global Chamber, will facilitate this dialogue,” D’Souza said.

He added that WTC Goa will also connect local businesses to the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) network, which spans more than 300 centres across nearly 100 countries, giving Goan enterprises access to a vast global trade ecosystem.

Dubai Positioned as Gateway to International Expansion

The seminar focused on Dubai’s emergence as a preferred destination for international trade, investment, and business expansion. Representatives from DMCC and Dubai Chambers provided detailed insights into establishing a business presence in Dubai, highlighting investor-friendly policies, efficient legal frameworks, world-class logistics, and connectivity to markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Mission 100/100 for Goan MSMEs

A key highlight of the event was the launch of the “Mission 100/100” initiative, which aims to bring together 100 Goan-origin MSMEs to achieve a combined turnover of ₹100 crore by 2035.

D’Souza described the initiative as a collaborative effort to provide MSMEs with both handholding and a strong foothold in global markets.

“These are steps we have taken not only to handhold MSMEs, but to give them a firm foothold and make it possible for them to tap into the global market through collaboration. We will act as the catalyst,” he said.

Strong Industry Participation

The seminar was attended by Pallavi Salgaocar, State President of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB) Goa; Siddharth Shah, Head of the DMCC India Representative Office; Abhijitsinh (Ajit) Singh Jadeja, Chief Representative – India, Dubai Chambers; and several entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders.

Arman Bankley, Trustee of the Vibrant Goa Foundation, emphasised the importance of Goan businesses looking beyond domestic markets and building stronger international partnerships to unlock new opportunities in trade, investment, and innovation.

Sector-Specific Opportunities Discussed

The seminar featured discussions on high-growth sectors including:

  • Food and agro products
  • Gems and jewellery
  • Consulting and business services
  • Marketing services
  • Family offices and wealth management
  • Construction and infrastructure

Participants also engaged directly with experts during an interactive Q&A session on investment procedures, regulatory requirements, market entry strategies, and collaboration opportunities within the Dubai business ecosystem.

Supported by Laghu Udyog Bharati and Global Chamber Goa, with Mangal Analytics and Research Consulting as Knowledge Partner, the event concluded with strong interest from Goan entrepreneurs in using Dubai as a strategic gateway for global expansion.
