Panaji: Goa continued their impressive campaign in the CAP U-19 Men’s Inter-State One-Day Tournament (Siechem Trophy 2026) with a convincing six-wicket victory over Himachal Pradesh at Siechem CAP Ground 2, Puducherry, on Tuesday. The win marked Goa’s second victory over Himachal Pradesh and their third overall triumph in the tournament.
After opting to field first, Goa’s bowlers produced a disciplined display to restrict Himachal Pradesh to 217 all out in 41.3 overs.
Leading the attack was Mihir Kudalkar, who delivered a match-winning spell of 4 wickets for 35 runs in his quota of ten overs. Govind Sawal provided excellent support, picking up 3 wickets for 30 runs, while all-rounder Aaditya Kota chipped in with two crucial wickets.
Himachal Pradesh recovered from early setbacks through Aditya Kataria, who struck a fighting 52 off 53 balls, including eight boundaries. Captain Naunihaal remained unbeaten on 48, but regular wickets prevented the side from building a commanding total.
Kota and Kamat Lay the Foundation
Goa’s chase was dominated by an outstanding opening partnership between Aaditya Kota and Vinit Kamat.
Kota narrowly missed out on a well-deserved century, scoring a brilliant 95 off 106 deliveries, featuring 13 boundaries and two sixes. At the other end, Vinit Kamat played an equally composed knock of 66 from 80 balls, laced with 11 fours.
The duo stitched together a commanding 147-run opening stand, putting Goa firmly in control of the chase.
Although Goa lost a few quick wickets after the opening partnership was broken, Mohit Yadav (15)* and Afridsab Rajakkanvar (13)* ensured there were no further hiccups, guiding the team to 221/4 in 40.2 overs, with 58 balls to spare.
Kota’s All-Round Brilliance
Aaditya Kota emerged as the standout performer of the match with a remarkable all-round display, contributing 95 runs and two wickets. Combined with Mihir Kudalkar’s four-wicket haul, Goa secured another comprehensive victory to strengthen their campaign in the prestigious domestic tournament.
