Goa Cricket Association Invites Applications for Fresher Umpire Recruitment Under Player Quota

Panaji, Goa: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) has announced the recruitment of Fresher Umpires (Male/Female Candidates) under the Player Quota, aiming to strengthen the quality of cricket officiating in the state while providing former cricketers with an opportunity to continue contributing to the game.

The initiative is designed to enhance the standards of umpiring in Goa and encourage experienced players to transition into cricket officiating after their playing careers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be below 40 years of age (born on or after 1st September 1986).
  • Have represented the Goa Cricket Association and played a minimum of five BCCI-recognised matches at any level.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process comprising:

  • Verification of eligibility and playing credentials.
  • Written examination based on the Laws of Cricket.
  • Personal interview.
  • Practical on-field assessment.
  • Mandatory training sessions conducted by qualified instructors.

The recruitment programme reflects GCA’s commitment to developing qualified cricket officials while ensuring that former players remain actively involved in the sport through officiating and mentorship.
