JCI Panaji Empowers Students with Digital Safety and Cyber Security Training at Smt. Sunandabai Bandodkar High School

Salvador do Mundo, Goa: Smt. Sunandabai Bandodkar High School, Salvador do Mundo, in collaboration with JCI Panaji, successfully organised the JCI India “Empowering Youth” Training Programme for the students of Class X on 16th July 2026. The three-hour interactive session focused on creating awareness about gadget screen time, cyber security, and the dos and don’ts of social media.

Hosted by JCI Panaji, the programme featured JC HGF Alisha Fernandes, Provisional Trainer of JCI India, as the resource person. She was warmly welcomed with a floral greeting by Headmistress Mrs. Jyoti Chipalunkar before commencing the session.

Through an engaging PowerPoint presentation, JC HGF Alisha Fernandes educated students on the importance of maintaining healthy screen time, protecting personal information online, recognising cyber threats, creating strong and secure passwords, and practising safe and responsible behaviour on social media platforms. She also highlighted the significance of digital citizenship, ethical online conduct, and making informed decisions in today’s technology-driven world.

The training included interactive group activities, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, encouraging students to actively participate and apply the concepts learned during the programme. The engaging format kept students involved throughout the three-hour session and reinforced the importance of responsible technology use.

A total of 40 Class X students participated in the programme, gaining valuable practical knowledge and essential life skills to help them navigate the digital world safely, confidently, and responsibly.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Miss Shweta Velip, who expressed gratitude to JC HGF Alisha Fernandes for delivering an informative, practical, and inspiring session. The event was efficiently coordinated by Sau. Rashmi Sawal, ensuring its smooth and successful execution.

The school management, led by Headmistress Mrs. Jyoti Chipalunkar, appreciated the initiative and expressed sincere gratitude to JCI Panaji, JCI India, and JC HGF Alisha Fernandes for conducting a meaningful programme that empowered students with essential digital life skills.

The JCI India “Empowering Youth” Training Programme once again highlighted JCI’s commitment to developing informed, responsible, and confident young citizens by equipping them with the knowledge and awareness needed to thrive safely in an increasingly digital world.
