Kundaim, Goa: With prayers, devotion and unwavering faith, devotees of the Sant Sohirobanath Warkari Sampradaya from Kundaim have commenced their annual padayatra to Pandharpur, Maharashtra, ahead of the auspicious festival of Ashadhi Ekadashi.
The sacred pilgrimage is an integral part of the centuries-old Warkari tradition, where devotees undertake a long journey on foot to seek the blessings of Lord Vitthal (Vithoba) at the revered Pandharpur temple.
Carrying saffron flags, chanting devotional hymns and singing abhangs dedicated to Lord Vitthal, the pilgrims began their spiritual journey with deep reverence and enthusiasm. The padayatra reflects not only religious devotion but also values of discipline, unity, humility and selfless service that define the Warkari movement.
Every year, thousands of Warkaris from different parts of India participate in this sacred pilgrimage, making Pandharpur one of the country’s most significant spiritual destinations during Ashadhi Ekadashi.
