St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa has once again showcased its sporting excellence by securing top honours at the Goa University Inter-Collegiate Sports Championships for the academic year 2025–26.
The college has been adjudged Best College in Sports (Men) – First Place by Goa University, recognising the exceptional achievements of its student-athletes across various sporting disciplines.
The men’s teams delivered remarkable performances, winning championship titles in:
- 🏸 Badminton
- 💪 Best Physique
- 🤾 Handball
- 🏑 Hockey
- 🏀 Basketball
The college teams also secured Runners-up positions in:
- Table Tennis
- Kabaddi
Adding another achievement to the institution’s sporting record, the women’s teams were awarded Best College in Sports (Women) – Third Place.
The women athletes brought glory to the college by winning championships in:
- 🏊 Swimming
- 🏐 Volleyball
They also finished as runners-up in:
- Table Tennis
- Baseball
The certificates recognising these achievements were presented during the 42nd Foundation Day celebrations of Goa University, held on June 30, 2026, at Taleigao Plateau.
The success reflects the commitment, discipline and dedication of the student-athletes, coaches and the Department of Physical Education & Sports.
The achievement highlights St. Xavier’s College Mapusa’s continued focus on creating a strong environment where academic growth and sporting excellence go hand in hand.
The management, principal, staff and students of the college congratulated all players, coaches and the Department of Physical Education & Sports for their outstanding performance and wished them continued success in future competitions.
