Manipal Hospitals Goa celebrated Doctors’ Day with a special event honouring the dedication, compassion and unwavering service of doctors who continue to strengthen the healthcare system through their commitment to patient care.
The celebration recognised the invaluable role of the medical fraternity in improving lives and delivering quality healthcare with empathy and excellence.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Surendra Prasad, Hospital Director, Manipal Hospitals Goa, expressed gratitude to the doctors for their tireless efforts and dedication towards patients.
He highlighted the crucial contribution of doctors in transforming healthcare experiences and reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to providing medical professionals with advanced infrastructure, resources and a patient-focused environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Senior Consultant – Surgical Oncology, Manipal Hospitals Goa, reflected on this year’s Doctors’ Day theme — “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?”
Dr. Salkar emphasised that the theme draws attention to the mental, emotional and physical challenges faced by healthcare professionals while caring for others.
He stated that doctors, nurses and medical teams often work under immense pressure and that their own well-being must also be prioritised.
“Healthy healthcare workers are essential for delivering safe, compassionate and high-quality patient care,” Dr. Salkar highlighted, encouraging doctors to continue their service with empathy, integrity and dedication while taking care of their own health.
As part of the celebrations, a cake-cutting ceremony was organised for all doctors. The cake was sponsored by Cidade Group as a gesture of appreciation towards the medical fraternity.
The event concluded with the hospital management expressing heartfelt gratitude to doctors for their relentless commitment and for making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families.
