Panaji — Goa’s Shri Arjun Kadam has been appointed as a National Technical Official (NTO) by the Judo Federation of India for the National Cadets Judo Championships and the National Ranking Junior Judo Tournament 2026, to be held in Chandigarh from 10–16 June 2026.
The two tournaments will also act as selection trials for the upcoming Asian Cadet Championships and the World Judo Championships, adding significance to the events and the responsibilities of officiating personnel. As an NTO, Shri Kadam will play a key role in ensuring that matches are conducted according to federation rules and that competition standards are upheld.
Shri Kadam dedicated the appointment to his coach, Shri Mir Dias of the Sports Authority of Goa, acknowledging his guidance and support. The selection of a Goan official for a national-level role is being hailed as a proud moment for the state’s judo fraternity and highlights the growing contribution of Goa to national-level sports administration.
The Judo Federation of India’s announcement has been welcomed by local coaches, athletes and administrators, who praised Kadam’s experience and commitment to the sport. Goa’s judo community looks forward to his representation at the Chandigarh events and hopes this recognition inspires more involvement in judo officiating and development across the state.
