Over 450 Students Honoured at Grand Nuvem Constituency Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony


Verna, Goa: In a remarkable celebration of academic excellence, a record 454 students from Nuvem Constituency who successfully passed their SSC and HSSC examinations were honoured at a grand felicitation ceremony held in Verna.

The event was organised by Together for Nuvem Foundation, an initiative of Lyndon Monteiro, in association with the United Club of Verna. The programme witnessed an overwhelming response, drawing nearly 1,400 attendees including students, parents, grandparents, siblings, teachers and well-wishers, making it one of the largest student felicitation programmes organised in the constituency in recent years.

The ceremony recognised 316 SSC students and 138 HSSC students for their dedication, perseverance and academic accomplishments. The atmosphere was filled with pride and celebration as families gathered to applaud the achievements of their children.

The function was graced by Rev. Fr. Lawrence Fernandes, SFX, Director and Superior of the Pilar Pilgrim Centre, Goa, as Chief Guest, while noted social worker, entrepreneur and public policy professional Lyndon Monteiro attended as Guest of Honour.

The programme was presided over by Luis J. Vaz, President of the United Club of Verna and recipient of the prestigious Bhausaheb Bandodkar State Award for Physical Education.

Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries congratulated the students on achieving an important milestone in their educational journey and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence with dedication, discipline and humility. They also acknowledged the invaluable role played by parents, teachers and guardians in supporting students throughout their academic pursuits.

Speaking on the occasion, Lyndon Monteiro emphasised the importance of empowering youth through education, skill development and opportunities for personal growth. He urged students to dream big, remain focused on their goals and contribute positively to society.

Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Lawrence Fernandes highlighted the importance of values, character and service alongside academic success. He encouraged students to remain grounded and utilise their talents for the betterment of society while pursuing excellence in their chosen fields.

The programme was widely appreciated for its meticulous organisation and its commitment to recognising not only academic achievement but also the sacrifices made by families in nurturing the aspirations of young learners.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment towards promoting education, youth empowerment and community development within Nuvem Constituency.
