The much-awaited second season of the supernatural thriller Dhootha is officially underway. The series was launched on June 5 with a traditional pooja ceremony attended by the cast and crew, marking the beginning of production for the next chapter of the hit OTT show.
Adding a special touch to the occasion, veteran actor Nagarjuna clapped the board and blessed the project, while his son Naga Chaitanya celebrated a significant milestone in his career by taking on the role of producer for the first time.
Dhootha, which premiered in 2023, marked Naga Chaitanya’s OTT debut and received praise for its gripping storyline, supernatural elements, and strong performances. Following its successful first season, the series was officially renewed in 2024.
Naga Chaitanya will reprise his role as journalist Sagar Varma Avuduri, while acclaimed actress Parvathy Thiruvothu returns as DCP Kranthi Shenoy. The show continues under the creative vision of filmmaker Vikram Kumar, who returns as creator and director.
Sharing his excitement on social media platform X, Chaitanya wrote, “Onwards and upwards. Here’s to the magic ahead,” while posting pictures from the pooja ceremony.
The event witnessed the presence of key cast and crew members as the team sought blessings before commencing production. Fans are eagerly looking forward to discovering what mysteries and supernatural twists await in the upcoming season.
With Chaitanya now stepping into production alongside his acting responsibilities, Dhootha 2 promises to be an even more ambitious project as it prepares to return to Amazon Prime Video.
