Manipal Hospital Goa Celebrates World Environment Day as ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Sapling Blossoms into a Green Legacy

Manipal Hospital Goa marked World Environment Day with a heartwarming celebration of growth, sustainability, and environmental responsibility as a sapling planted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative blossomed into a thriving tree on its campus.

The sapling was planted on September 17, 2024, by Goa Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant at the Manipal Hospital Goa campus as part of the nationwide movement inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of honoring Mother Earth and mothers through tree plantation.

Nearly two years later, the once-fragile sapling now stands adorned with blossoms, serving as a living symbol of hope, resilience, and environmental stewardship.

Hospital authorities highlighted that the tree’s growth reflects the power of consistent care and commitment toward creating a greener and healthier future. Every leaf and flower represents the collective effort invested in nurturing the environment and preserving nature for future generations.

At Manipal Hospital Goa, sustainability remains an integral part of its philosophy. The hospital believes that healing extends beyond medical care and encompasses the environment that supports life and wellbeing.

The flourishing tree now stands as a tribute to the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” movement, reinforcing the importance of ecological responsibility and encouraging communities to contribute towards environmental conservation.

As the world observes World Environment Day, Manipal Hospital Goa reaffirmed its commitment to protecting nature and promoting sustainable practices, reminding everyone that even a single sapling can grow into a lasting legacy.
