Salman Khan once again made Eid special for his fans by releasing a fresh version of the song Main Hoon from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace.
The actor took to Instagram and X on Thursday (May 28) to unveil the new music video, which presents a completely different emotional interpretation of the song. Featuring Salman Khan alongside Chitrangda Singh, the black-and-white visual focuses on love, separation and sacrifice in the life of a soldier.
The song Main Hoon was first released on Valentine’s Day 2026 as part of the film, which was then titled Battle of Galwan. The original version highlighted the emotional cost of a soldier’s duty and explored how military life impacts relationships and family life.
Composed and co-written by Ayaan Lall, son of veteran actress Kunickaa Sadanand, the track features vocals by Shreya Ghoshal and Ayaan Lall. The lyrics are penned by Shabbir Ahmed, while the choreography has been done by Shabina Khan.
However, the newly released Eid version takes a more intimate and melancholic approach. Unlike the original colourful visuals, the new music video is shot entirely in black and white, emphasising the emotional distance between Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh’s characters.
The video focuses solely on the two lead characters and explores the loneliness, longing and emotional pain caused by separation during military duty. Fans online have praised the emotional depth of the new version and its soulful storytelling.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced under Salman Khan Films, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace is inspired by the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China.
Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16th Bihar regiment who sacrificed his life during the conflict. Chitrangda Singh essays the role of his wife, bringing emotional depth to the war drama.
The film was initially scheduled for release on April 17, 2026, but faced delays due to reshoots and mandatory Ministry of Defence screenings. Reports suggest that the makers are now planning to release the film around Independence Day 2026.
With the emotional new version of Main Hoon, Salman Khan has once again managed to strike a chord with fans, blending patriotism, love and sacrifice into a heartfelt Eid release.
