Malayalam cinema superstar Mohanlal has once again proven his unmatched box office dominance as Drishyam 3 officially crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide within just seven days of its theatrical release.
The actor shared the milestone on social media with an emotional message celebrating the franchise’s journey.
“Three films. Three chapters. One unbroken bond. Thank you for walking with Georgekutty and family,” the post read.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 marks the third chapter in one of Indian cinema’s most loved thriller franchises. The film continues the gripping story of Georgekutty and his family, picking up after the events of the second instalment.
This achievement makes Drishyam 3 the first film in the franchise to enter the prestigious ₹200 crore club. It also marks yet another major success for Mohanlal, whose recent films L2: Empuraan and Thudarum had already crossed the same benchmark.
Interestingly, industry trackers noted that with Drishyam 3’s massive success, Mohanlal’s own blockbuster Pulimurugan has now moved out of the list of the top ten highest-grossing Malayalam films worldwide. Pulimurugan was historically the first Malayalam film to cross ₹100 crore globally and remains a landmark in Mollywood history.
Despite early debates around whether a third instalment was necessary, Drishyam 3 has managed to silence criticism through strong word-of-mouth and steady collections. According to trade reports, the film witnessed only a moderate drop after its opening weekend and has continued to maintain impressive occupancy in theatres.
The film also stars Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, Siddique and Asha Sharath in key roles.
With Kattalan releasing this week, all eyes are now on whether Drishyam 3 can sustain its extraordinary theatrical momentum in the coming days.
