Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has once again become the centre of attention at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 after fresh photographs of her latest couture appearance surfaced online and quickly went viral across fan pages and social media platforms.
Just when it appeared that the actor had wrapped up her Cannes appearances for the year, the new images revealed Aishwarya in one of her most dramatic fashion moments yet — an ivory couture gown featuring sculpted rose-inspired detailing and a theatrical silhouette.
In the viral photographs, Aishwarya is seen posing elegantly on a sunlit balcony overlooking a picturesque European backdrop. The ivory ensemble stood out for its oversized ruffled detailing around the shoulders and across the gown, resembling blooming roses and creating a couture fantasy aesthetic synonymous with Cannes glamour.
The actor styled the look with loose side-swept waves, smoky eye makeup and nude lips, giving the appearance a timeless old-Hollywood touch. Fans online praised the look for blending romance, drama and sophistication while continuing Aishwarya’s long-standing tradition of memorable Cannes fashion moments.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has remained one of Cannes’ most recognised Indian faces for over two decades, and her appearances continue to dominate fashion conversations globally every year.
Before the latest photographs surfaced, the actor had already delivered several striking fashion moments at Cannes 2026. For one of her festival interviews, she wore a custom nude-toned fitted outfit by designer Fjolla Nila, styled by celebrity stylist Mohit Rai. The look marked a shift towards classic European glamour and moved away from oversized silhouettes.
For the closing event at the festival, Aishwarya chose a white pantsuit by Chinese designer Cheney Chan. The ensemble featured embellished lapels, tailored trousers with lace detailing and a dramatic feathered cape.
Earlier during her Cannes journey, she also stunned in a sculpted sapphire-blue mermaid-style gown by designer Amit Aggarwal, which marked the designer’s Cannes debut.
The actor also attended the Lights on Women’s Worth event hosted by L’Oréal Paris alongside daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who wore a ruby-red gown with a matching cape.
Interestingly, Aishwarya’s Cannes appearance this year also came amid online speculation over whether she would attend the festival at all. Fans had earlier noticed that promotional visuals at Hotel Martinez featured several L’Oréal Paris ambassadors including Alia Bhatt, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria and Helen Mirren, while Aishwarya was absent from the display.
The omission triggered conversations online, following which L’Oréal reportedly referred to Aishwarya as a “living legend,” further cementing her iconic association with Cannes and global fashion culture.
