The Post Graduate Department of Commerce at G.V.M.’s Gopal Govind Poy Raiturcar College of Commerce and Economics successfully organized a National Level Workshop on “Advanced Multivariate Analysis and Scholarly Publishing,” aimed at strengthening academic research capabilities and promoting high-quality scholarly writing.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 35 delegates representing 14 colleges from across the region. The programme focused on enhancing research rigour and equipping participants with advanced statistical and analytical tools essential for academic and professional research.
The inaugural function began with a warm welcome address by Vice Principal Prof. Smita Sanzgiri. Chief Guest Prof. Dilip B. Arolkar and Shri Krishna Shetye, Chairman of the GVM Working Committee, addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing importance of research excellence, quality publications, and academic integrity in higher education.
The sessions were led by renowned resource person Dr. Sunil Budhiraja from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, who delivered comprehensive insights into literature reviews, research design methodologies, and identifying suitable journals for scholarly publishing.
Participants also received practical, hands-on training in advanced statistical techniques including Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) using SPSS and AMOS software platforms. The interactive sessions enabled attendees to strengthen their analytical and data interpretation skills relevant to modern research practices.
The workshop concluded with a valedictory ceremony, during which Convenor Shri Akshay Naik delivered the vote of thanks. Organizers described the event as a successful milestone in fostering professional academic development and promoting research-oriented learning among educators and students alike.
