Actor Salman Khan has once again grabbed attention with his candid remarks about filmmaking and his unconventional approach towards choosing movies. During a recent interview with Variety India, the superstar revealed that he has never read a script in his entire life despite being one of the biggest names in Indian cinema for over three decades.
Speaking openly about his process, Salman said, “I’ve never read a script in my entire life. I’ve written them, but I’ve never read them.” His statement quickly became a talking point among fans and film lovers online.
Over the years, Salman has often hinted that he prefers understanding the overall treatment, scale and emotional appeal of a film rather than sitting down to read a complete screenplay. His instinctive approach towards selecting projects has resulted in several blockbuster films throughout his career.
The actor also addressed the constant attention surrounding the luxury watches he is frequently seen wearing. Responding to discussions around expensive timepieces, Salman joked that just because he wears certain watches does not necessarily mean they belong to him. He mentioned that some watches could belong to friends or acquaintances.
Salman was recently seen making a special cameo appearance in the Marathi historical drama Raja Shivaji starring Riteish Deshmukh. His portrayal of warrior Jiva Mahala received appreciation from audiences and fans.
On the work front, Salman is preparing for his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, which was earlier being developed under the title Battle of Galwan. Reports suggest the film has undergone significant changes, including the removal of references to the Galwan Valley and China, along with extensive reshoots.
The film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films. Actress Chitrangda Singh will reportedly star alongside Salman in the project. However, the makers are yet to announce an official release date.
Salman has also locked Eid 2027 for another major project alongside Nayanthara. The film, currently referred to as SVC63, will be directed by Telugu filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally.
Apart from Salman and Riteish, Raja Shivaji also features Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan in important roles.
