Actor Mouni Roy and businessman Suraj Nambiar have officially announced their separation through a joint statement shared amid growing speculation surrounding their marriage.
The couple requested privacy during this phase of their personal lives and appealed to media outlets as well as social media users not to circulate what they described as “fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods” regarding their relationship.
The announcement comes days after online rumours intensified when fans noticed changes on their social media accounts, including reports that the couple had unfollowed each other and removed several photographs together from Instagram.
In their statement, Mouni and Suraj clarified that they have mutually decided to part ways while maintaining respect for each other and their families. They also requested people to avoid unnecessary assumptions and speculation.
The news has surprised many fans, as the couple often shared glimpses of their life together through vacation pictures, celebrations and public appearances over the years.
Mouni Roy married Suraj Nambiar on January 27, 2022, in Goa in a grand ceremony that blended traditional Malayali and Bengali wedding rituals. Their wedding pictures had gone viral across social media platforms at the time.
Suraj Nambiar, originally from Bengaluru, is a businessman and investment banker who reportedly worked in Dubai before marriage. Mouni, meanwhile, remains one of television’s most popular actors and has also built a successful film career.
She rose to fame through television shows such as Naagin and Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev before transitioning into Bollywood films including Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, Gold and Made in China.
Fans and followers have continued expressing support for both Mouni and Suraj online following the official announcement.
