Archdiocese of Goa and Daman Announces Priest Appointments for Pastoral Year 2026-27


Archdiocese of Goa and Daman has officially announced the priest appointments and transfers for the pastoral year 2026-27.

The appointments were made by Archbishop-Patriarch Filipe Neri Ferrão and include a wide range of new assignments for parish priests, parochial administrators, chaplains, assistant parish priests, seminary staff and diocesan offices across Goa, Daman and Silvassa.

Among the major appointments announced are Rev. Fr. Menino Vales as Parish Priest of Olaulim, Rev. Fr. Ubaldo Fernandes to Aquem, Rev. Fr. Leonardo Moraes to Velim, Rev. Fr. Tomas Lobo to Mapusa and Rev. Fr. Ricardo Pinheiro to Our Lady of Grace Church, Margão.

Several priests have also been assigned as chaplains and assistant parish priests in parishes across the Archdiocese. New responsibilities have additionally been entrusted to priests serving in seminaries, spiritual centres, diocesan institutions and pastoral ministries.

Rev. Fr. Jovito D’Souza, SJ, has been appointed Rector of the Basilica of Bom Jesus, while Rev. Fr. Victor Sequeira has been appointed Professor at Rachol Seminary and Director of the Good Shepherd Institute of Theology.

The appointments also include assignments linked to tourism ministry, biblical apostolate, pastoral centres and social work missions within the Archdiocese.

The Archdiocese further announced the names of priests who have been relieved from their previous responsibilities following the new pastoral appointments.

The annual appointments and transfers are part of the Archdiocese’s pastoral planning process and are aimed at strengthening parish administration, community outreach, theological education and spiritual ministry across the region.

The pastoral year 2026-27 will see priests taking up their new responsibilities in parishes, institutions and ministries spread across Goa, Daman and Silvassa.
