Chanel Crizzle has made a proud return to the senior Indian women’s rugby team and will serve as Vice Captain for the upcoming CASA 7s tournament scheduled to take place in Tashkent on May 16 and 17.

The announcement has brought immense pride to Goa, especially Taleigao, as the talented rugby player once again dons the Indian colours on the international stage.

Known for her leadership, determination, and consistent performances, Chanel Crizzle has emerged as one of Goa’s prominent sporting figures in rugby. Her return to the national squad reflects her dedication to the sport and her continued contribution to Indian women’s rugby.

The CASA 7s tournament will see multiple Asian teams competing in the fast-paced rugby sevens format, with India aiming to put up a strong performance in the international competition.

Chanel’s appointment as Vice Captain further highlights the confidence the management and coaching staff have in her experience and leadership abilities. Over the years, she has played an important role in inspiring young athletes, particularly women in sports across Goa.

Her selection has been widely celebrated by the local sporting community, with many extending their best wishes to both Chanel and Team India ahead of the tournament.

As Team India prepares for the challenge in Uzbekistan, Goa will proudly cheer for one of its own representing the nation on the global rugby stage.
