Manipal Hospital Goa celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm and appreciation, recognising the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of its nursing fraternity through a special awards and felicitation ceremony held on May 13, 2026.
The event brought together nurses, hospital leadership, and healthcare professionals in a heartfelt celebration honouring the invaluable role nurses play in delivering quality patient care and strengthening the healthcare system.
The programme was attended by Chief Guest Dr. Dipchand Bhandare, Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedics, and Guest of Honour Dr. Dalia Bhandare, Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology.
Also present on the occasion were Surendra Prasad, Hospital Director of Manipal Hospital Goa, and Nursing Superintendent Sister Anitha.
Addressing the gathering, Surendra Prasad highlighted the crucial role nurses play in healthcare delivery and patient wellbeing.
“Nurses are the backbone of every healthcare institution and play a vital role in ensuring compassionate, safe, and quality care for patients. Their dedication, resilience, and commitment often go beyond clinical responsibilities and make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families every day,” he said.
He further added that Manipal Hospital Goa deeply values the extraordinary contribution and commitment shown by its nursing teams.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashwini Colaco, Consultant Pulmonologist, who expressed gratitude towards the nursing staff and all attendees for making the occasion meaningful and memorable.
The event reflected the hospital’s commitment to acknowledging and celebrating the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals who continue to serve patients with compassion and dedication every day.
