Manipal Hospital Goa Conducts Fire Mock Drill and CPR Training to Boost Emergency Preparedness

PANAJI: Manipal Hospital Goa reinforced its commitment to safety, preparedness and community well-being by organizing a comprehensive Fire Mock Drill in collaboration with Fire Station Panjim at its hospital premises.

The initiative was aimed at enhancing emergency response readiness among hospital staff while ensuring the highest standards of patient and visitor safety. The mock drill simulated a fire emergency scenario where hospital teams, security personnel and fire officials worked together to carry out evacuation procedures, rescue operations and fire containment measures in a coordinated manner.

The exercise provided valuable practical training to staff members, helping them respond swiftly and effectively during emergency situations. Officials from Fire Station Panjim appreciated the proactive approach adopted by the hospital in prioritizing fire safety and conducting regular preparedness activities.

Alongside the fire drill, the hospital also organized a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session focused on educating staff members and participants about life-saving techniques during medical emergencies. The session covered chest compressions, rescue breathing and emergency response protocols for cardiac arrest situations.

DIGP Ved Prakash Surya addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of public awareness regarding CPR and emergency response during critical situations.

Medical experts from Manipal Hospital Goa emphasized that timely CPR intervention can significantly improve survival chances during cardiac emergencies and stressed the importance of regular training and awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, Hospital Director Surendra Prasad stated that the institution remains committed not only to delivering quality healthcare but also to promoting safety awareness, emergency preparedness and lifesaving education within the hospital and the wider community.

Such initiatives reflect Manipal Hospital Goa’s continuous efforts to create a safe, responsive and health-conscious environment for patients, staff and visitors alike.
