Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay made a spiritual visit to the renowned Tiruchendur Murugan Temple just days before Tamil Nadu’s election results are set to be announced on May 4.
After maintaining a low profile following the polling phase, Vijay reportedly planned the visit quietly and boarded a private flight from Chennai to Madurai late at night. However, even his midnight arrival couldn’t escape public attention, as hundreds of enthusiastic fans gathered at Madurai airport to catch a glimpse of the actor-politician.
Videos circulating online showed Vijay greeting supporters warmly by waving and briefly standing through his vehicle’s sunroof before police intervened to manage the crowd. Dressed in a traditional silk veshti and shirt, Vijay opted for a more spiritual appearance, different from his usual public attire.
From Madurai, he travelled by road to Tiruchendur and reached the temple in the early hours of the morning. He participated in the special Viswaroopa Darshan and offered prayers at the temple. Temple authorities welcomed him and presented him with a sacred Vel as a gesture of respect.
Devotees at the temple were seen gathering around the actor, with many praising his calm and humble demeanor during the visit.
The temple visit comes at a crucial time as political observers closely watch TVK’s performance in the elections. It also arrives amid anticipation surrounding Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan, directed by H. Vinoth. The film stars Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, and Narain in key roles and has reportedly been awaiting censor clearance since January.
With election results nearing and his film release highly anticipated, Vijay continues to remain at the center of both political and entertainment conversations.
