Ektaa Kapoor Confirms Naagin 7 Finale Date, Says Show Will Return Next Year

Producer Ektaa Kapoor has officially addressed growing speculation surrounding the future of her hit supernatural franchise Naagin 7, confirming that the current season is set to conclude soon — but not permanently.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Ektaa shared that the show was originally scheduled to end in April following a request from the channel. However, due to strong audience engagement, the season was extended beyond its initial plan.

“I’m here to give some update on Naagin. Guys, I had done that post yesterday and I didn’t realise we were creating a storm. We were supposed to end in April because of the channel’s request. We’re ending on my birthday,” she said.

The finale episode is now scheduled to air on June 7, which also marks Ektaa Kapoor’s birthday.

She further revealed that the current season was initially designed to be shorter. “This season was supposed to be just 30 episodes, but we extended it to 48 episodes. We will be back next year,” she added.

Ektaa also explained her decision to move toward shorter seasons in the future, saying it would help maintain the franchise’s consistency while allowing her to focus on other projects.

“In order to have Naagin back every year, we should do shorter seasons so that I don’t have to give all my time and can focus on other things too. To return next year, we need a break,” she explained.

The current season stars Priyanka Chahar Choudhary in the lead role and has kept viewers engaged with dramatic twists, supernatural battles, and a gripping love triangle storyline.

Since its debut, the Naagin franchise has remained one of Indian television’s most successful supernatural dramas, consistently delivering high TRPs and loyal fan engagement.

The show airs on Colors TV and streams on JioHotstar.
