Rakul Preet Singh and husband Jackky Bhagnani are proving that humour can be the best response to online controversy.
The actress recently addressed the viral “situationship” chatter surrounding her marriage by sharing a light-hearted Instagram story featuring Jackky. The controversy began after Jackky, during a podcast appearance, described their relationship as a “situationship.” While he intended the comment to highlight their easygoing friendship-based bond, many online users interpreted it differently, leading to sensational headlines and widespread speculation.
Rather than issuing another clarification, Rakul decided to laugh it off.
In the playful clip shared on Instagram, Rakul jokingly says:
“Kitne baar bola isko, ki we are millennials, Gen-Z banne ki zaroorat nahi hai.”
(Translation: I’ve told him so many times that we are millennials, there’s no need to act like Gen-Z.)
The video then cuts to Jackky, who is seen holding his ears and apologising. Rakul continues teasing him, saying:
“Bola tha na? Kar diya na tumne?”
When Jackky apologises, Rakul humorously adds that since netizens aren’t ready to move on from the discussion, they’ve decided to join in and have some fun with it themselves.
Earlier, Rakul had also spoken about how nuanced conversations are often turned into misleading clickbait headlines and stressed that context matters when interpreting personal statements.
The couple tied the knot in 2024 after dating for several years and have often spoken openly about building their relationship on honesty, mutual respect, and independence.
On the professional front, Rakul will next be seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi.
