Progress High School Sankhalim Crowned U14 North District Cricket Champions, Qualify for State Finals


In an exciting finale of the U14 Boys North District Championship organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), Progress High School, Sankhalim emerged as champions after defeating Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa by six wickets at Peddem Ground

Winning the toss, Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 107/7 in 20 overs. Their batting lineup tried to build partnerships, but disciplined bowling from Progress High School kept the scoring under control.

Chasing a target of 108 runs, Progress High School Sankhalim displayed confidence and composure, successfully reaching 111/4 in 18.4 overs to seal a memorable victory.

Top performers for Progress High School included:

  • Amey Fogueri – 30 runs
  • Mayank – 30* (Not Out) and 1 wicket
  • Swayam – 14 runs
  • Sparsh Gawas – 2 wickets
  • Vignesh – 2 wickets

The thrilling victory has earned Progress High School Sankhalim the prestigious U14 North District title while also securing their place in the upcoming State Finals.

The championship showcased promising young cricketing talent from Goa, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for school-level sports in the state.
