Actor Trisha Krishnan found herself at the centre of social media chatter after her post-voting Instagram update during the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections went viral.
Tamil Nadu went to polls on April 23, marking a major political moment as actor Vijay contested elections for the first time through his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Amid the election buzz, Trisha’s social media post caught the attention of fans who believed it carried a subtle message of support for the actor-politician.
After casting her vote, Trisha shared a smiling picture on Instagram showing her inked finger. While the post looked simple, it was the background music that sparked speculation online.
The actor used “Arjunar Villu” from her blockbuster film Ghilli starring Vijay. Fans quickly pointed out that the song clip featured whistles — which many linked to TVK’s party symbol. This led several social media users to interpret the post as a hidden nod of support for Vijay.
Trisha captioned the post only with evil-eye emojis, further adding mystery to the upload.
Speaking to reporters after voting, Trisha encouraged citizens to participate in the democratic process.
“Please vote, just go vote. That’s your right, it’s your duty. Please go vote,” she said.
Social media users flooded her comments section with reactions.
One user wrote, “Code word accepted.”
Another commented, “If you know, you know.”
Several fans also referred to her as “Anni” and shared Vijay-related GIFs and messages.
Vijay and Trisha remain one of Tamil cinema’s most loved onscreen pairs, having worked together in films like Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi, and Leo.
Meanwhile, Vijay’s political debut continues to dominate headlines as Tamil Nadu awaits election results.
